Today
Today marks one year out from our 2023 Summerlin Family Reunion. As we work toward this coming reunion, we want to make sure all who are interested come along for the planning journey. As your core committee we are dedicated to making our 2023 Summerlin Family Reunion a rich experience for all.
Currently, this committee is feeling the loss of our beloved mentor Polly Ann Summerlin Moore. We hope to honor her by sticking to what she has taught us and maintaining factual integrity to our research. We want to make her proud in tracing our roots and we hope you will feel blessed through our research.
Updates & Sharing
Lucy has been diligently continuing on with her research and updates through the utilization of Ancestry.com while Peggy & Dale are working on the administrative end by organizing the reunion location and building the website. We found the 2018 reunion location to be the perfect spot along the river so have booked the Riverwalk Center once again. We also saw how much you enjoyed the story boards we shared at our 2018 reunion. Lucy has already begun putting together new ones displaying interesting depictions and historical background on the children of E. C. Summerlin and Polly Ann Osteen and the son of E. C. by his first wife Ellen Gernan. We will keep you posted on our work with those!
Pictures and Media
We’ll add pictures to the Gallery as we are able. Right now, we have added just a few. Cousin Mike Summerlin has graciously given us permission to use some of his pictures and we are really excited about that! He does a great job with his Facebook page keeping us updated on his recipes as well as his fishing adventures.
Recipes
Speaking of recipes, we have recently added recipes to our site, posted by Danielle Rose. We have a page dedicated to recipes under the All Things Family tab. Make sure you visit that page often for updates! My mouth is watering now just thinking about all those amazing dishes. Stay tuned for additions!
Updates
We hope you will visit the website often and read up on our history, under Connected By Our Roots, current events, under Day to Day Happenings, and collecting new recipes, under Favorite Recipes. Make sure you sign up for our newsletter, too. You’ll find multiple ways to sign up on our home page. That will keep you updated whenever we create new posts or add new recipes. And as for social media, currently we are only signed up on Facebook. Let us know if you think we should add instagram or other social media sites and we will consider.
